How far in advance should I buy my KIELIUS online ticket?
To make sure everything goes smoothly at the point of travel, you have to buy your online ticket from our online shop at least one hour before your desired departure.
How do I get my ticket if I buy it online?
We will e-mail your ticket in PDF form to the e-mail address you used to register in the online shop. You will receive the ticket e-mail as soon as your payment is processed. This typically takes only a couple of minutes. You will find the PDF with the ticket at the bottom of the e-mail, so please scroll all the way down. You also have the option of downloading the ticket yourself at any time under "My tickets" in the user account. Please also note that we will send you two e-mails: one order confirmation and a second message with your ticket.
Sometimes e-mails with PDF tickets end up in the spam folder or in the unknown folder. Please check those folders before contacting us if your ticket has still not arrived 30 minutes after you have placed your order.
You must present your ticket to the bus driver to be scanned and validated, either in the form of a printout or on your smartphone display. If you print out the ticket, please take care not to crease the QR code.
Will my ticket be saved in my user account?
Yes, in the online shop you will find tickets you have booked under "My tickets" in the user account. You can download unused tickets here at any time and print them out if required. You must present your ticket to the bus driver to be scanned and validated, either in the form of a printout or on your smartphone display. If you print out the ticket, please take care not to crease the QR code.
What payment options do I have?
In our online shop you have the possibility to pay for your ticket by PayPal, direct debit or credit card. Here you can find out more about your payment options in the KIELIUS online shop.
On the KIELIUS bus, cash and card payments (EC card, credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay) are possible. If you pay in cash, it would help us a lot if you had the money with you as appropriately as possible.
Will I receive an invoice for my ticket?
No, you will not receive a separate invoice for your ticket. You have the option of downloading the invoice yourself at any time under "My orders" in the user account. Please use the option "View order", "Invoices" and then "Print all invoices".
Can I book for a specific date or for a specific trip?
No, at present, KIELIUS tickets can be used freely. However, one should consider possible shifts in price once the fare change has taken effect. Our monthly passes are an exception to this rule. They are valid for a fixed calendar month and are not available in the online shop. You can get them instead directly from your KIELIUS driver or via DB Vertrieb on a subscription basis. What should I do if I do not receive my ticket?
If your ticket fails to arrive in your e-mail account even after 30 minutes, please check your spam folder and your unknown folder first. If you do not find the ticket e-mail there either, please check your user account in the online shop again under "My tickets" to see whether your ticket is displayed there and if you can print it out. If you do not find your ticket here, either, please reach out promptly to our customer service unit at +49 (0)431 666 222. If the ticket has to be reissued, this can only be done during the office hours of the Kiel branch office (Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am – 3:00 pm, Friday 8:00 am – 2:30 pm).
I didn't take the trip after all. Can I cancel the ticket?
If you bought your ticket from the driver, please send your original, unused ticket, stating the reason for cancellation, your address and your IBAN to the address below. We will refund the price of your ticket less a handling fee of EUR 4.00 per invoice:

If you bought your ticket in the online shop, you only need to send us an e-mail at kielius-shop@deutschebahn.com. Please provide your order number and the e-mail address used for the order so we can clearly identify the ticket and cancel it from the system. The money will be refunded via the same means of payment used for the order (PayPal, credit card or direct debit). You will receive a credit for the ticket price you paid, less a processing fee of EUR 4.00.
How can I delete my user account for the KIELIUS online shop?
If you would like to delete your user account for the online shop, you may do this by yourself in your delete user account.
